Aspiring Entrepreneurs is a new podcast and information product company founded by Sophie Howard. As the name says, the goal of this project is to demonstrate what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. It’s all about figuring out who you are, your talents and limitations, and your preferences before deciding on the best company strategy for you. Sophie even suggests taking an archetypal questionnaire to determine the sort of entrepreneur you’re supposed to be.
UP NEXT: What About Aspiring Entrepreneurs?
The Creator is the earliest archetype. Someone who can adapt to change, someone who is visionary, someone who recognizes the gaps, sees the opportunity, and comes up with a creative solution. Someone who is unconcerned about red tape or bureaucracy and will just push past it. Being a Creator has the benefit of constantly being in demand. Another reason is that you’re difficult to replace. You provide tremendous value to any team on which you are a member.
Additionally, Creators thrive in chaotic environments, which is very beneficial in the startup sector. They are usually enthusiastic about their job, whereas most individuals are not. One disadvantage is that you may be better at beginning initiatives than completing them. As a result, you’ll have to team up with executors. People who can dot the Is, cross the Ts, and ensure that standard operating procedures are followed. Work on your communication abilities as well, so you can persuade others to support your big ideas.
The Connector is the second archetype. A natural enthusiasm for discussion and connection exists in someone who enjoys networking and working with others. Connectors may help creators get their ideas out there, expose them to other crucial players, and start building up interest in the market, according to Sophie. Connectors are excellent managers, freeing up Creators to do what they do best: create.
An Operator is the third kind of entrepreneur. Someone who creates systems and procedures, establishes a timetable and ensures that everyone follows it, converts chaos into order, and guarantees that consumers have a consistent experience throughout their relationship with you. Every entrepreneur need a capable Operator. However, operators may also be founders. For example, Jeff Bezos has a rule that Amazon delivery trucks cannot make left turns since yielding to oncoming traffic would take too much time. What a tyrant.
The Automator is your fourth and last option. Someone who enjoys technology, can see inefficiencies, and knows how to correct them using software and tools. Automators are usually the folks who make it big in Silicon Valley. Consider Uber and Airbnb. Because automators are so scalable, they can develop unfathomably enormous enterprises that are appealing to investors. If you’re this archetype, congratulations! Software as a service (SaaS) is likely the greatest company to start.
