Chance Shane, a Modern Millionaire student, sat down with Anthony Welton to discuss his experience in the program. Shane had a fifteen-year career in radio before to joining. He would make cold calls to companies and attempt to persuade them to acquire radio ad space. It was, as you would expect, a difficult sale. So it seemed a lot simpler when he watched one of Chance and Abdul’s YouTube advertisements on how they put up online billboard advertising for businesses. He decided to enroll.

Shane was lucky to get on board since he was fired from his radio job during Covid. Fortunately, he had thirteen customers who had paid him at that time. He believes he was earning about $30,000 every month. As a result, the furlough was not a major inconvenience. His greatest customer is a computer school with three campuses in California, near to where he resides. Shane was able to automate their systems and take over all of their digital advertising.
Shane estimates that he spends roughly $800 per month on various tools and software, but that this has enabled him to expand to where he is today. He hires virtual assistants to handle much of the grunt work, which adds to the cost but offers him the independence he seeks. “I do,” Shane chuckles, “I farm a lot out.” “It’s the entire middleman mindset,” says the narrator. “I’m merely the project manager and the face of everything.”
Shane is content as long as everything is done and his customers are satisfied. He can spend more time with his wife and three children instead of being tethered to his laptop for twelve hours a day. When he does work on the business, he can concentrate on developing it rather than simply keeping it afloat. Shane feels thankful for his current situation. His interaction with Chance might have been quite different if he hadn’t taken the risk with Modern Millionaires.
Don’t make the mistake of believing that now isn’t the time to start your web company because of the post-pandemic environment, warns Shane. While certain areas have clearly suffered, others are thriving, and whole new businesses are emerging as a result of need. For example, he just become a customer of an online yoga school. Hundreds of different sorts of companies are going online, and they need your aid to gain clients.
Shane was asked what advise he could provide to prospective and present MM members by Chance. Shane said, “Take it seriously.” “Close your eyes and put your head down.” Take a look at their modules. Go through it again if you don’t comprehend anything. And just go through the motions. It’s all there for you to see. And, you know, it’s going to happen. [You will succeed] if you follow those steps and keep doing what you need to accomplish.”
Chance concludes the conversation by telling everyone that they must be aware of their numbers. To obtain a yes, you must plow through a lot of noes. When you send five cold emails and don’t receive a response, you can’t simply shrug your shoulders and claim it didn’t work. It’s possible that you’ll have to send a thousand emails to receive a handful of answers, with one or two company owners saying yes. If you think it seems like a lot of effort, you’re right. But that’s where outsourcing and technology come into play.
