FBA Masterclass Review (Tom Wang)

In his YouTube commercial, Tom Wang says that every time you purchase on Amazon, you’re assisting someone like him in earning a passive income. That’s because many of the things you purchase on a daily basis come from online marketers who utilize Amazon’s FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) service.

UP NEXT: Why This Is Better Than Amazon FBA

Tom claims to have sold more than $4 million worth of merchandise on Amazon alone last year. His FBA company was purchased for multiple seven figures in January of 2021. Tom offers a step-by-step course called FBA Masterclass if you want to follow in his footsteps. The total price is $6,997. Is it true? You’re going to learn. Continue reading for my no-holds-barred FBA Masterclass review.

Tom Wang explains a profit method based on a single product. Choose a mundane item that millions of people currently buy on a regular basis. Something tiny, uncomplicated, and light (to keep shipping costs down). Something that costs less than $50. That you can get for as little as $1 or $2 a unit. How can you get such ridiculously low prices approved? To get the greatest bargain, Tom suggests you should call as many as 40 to 60 providers. Yuck. I’d be out there right now.

Another factor to consider is that your goods will eventually come from China. Production, fulfillment, and shipping from China have all been negatively impacted as a result of the severe anti-coronavirus procedures put in place. This might be enough to put your Amazon FBA company in risk.

I’m also concerned about the final product’s quality. How wonderful could it possible be if you’re purchasing in bulk for merely a few of dollars per unit? Will buyers be satisfied with their purchase? Will you be bombarded with complaints and refund requests? Is this a company you can be proud of if it’s the latter?

What about testimonials? Isn’t it true that they’re critical? If you don’t have a lot of favorable reviews, Amazon won’t put your product on the first page of search results when someone searches for it. Even if they do locate it, if there are no reviews or they are all unfavorable, they will not order. I’m curious as to how Tom Wang advises you to go around this. Hopefully, he’s not instructing you to purchase or fake them, since that would be against Amazon’s terms of service and may result in your account being suspended without notice.

Even if you could get beyond all of that, it seems that getting started with Amazon FBA will be quite costly. Tom’s FBA Masterclass costs $7,000. Initial inventory was probably about $2,000. Then Tom suggests that you run PPC advertisements to help your product get traction. Assume you began with a daily budget of $50. That’s an extra $1.5k in the first month alone. Add extra $500 to cover software and tools.

When you add it everything together, you’re down to almost $11,000 in your first 30 days. Eek! You’d better hope and pray that your one product hits it out of the park. I mean, $11,000 is a decent downpayment on a lovely home. For me, it’s just too dangerous.

Finally, kudos to Tom Wang for selling his Amazon FBA shop, but does it mean he’s no longer working in the trenches every day? If that’s the case, that’s terrifying. On the internet, things change so rapidly. You want someone who has their “finger on the pulse” when it comes to mentoring. If not, your training may be out of date, allowing you to make expensive errors or miss out on new trends and possibilities.

Tom Wang strikes me as a real person. He seems to be trustworthy. However, I’m concerned that he’s now more concerned with teaching than with mastering Amazon FBA. More significantly, I think that there are superior business models out there. Like, like, let’s say, ours.
